Our new heartthrob this season must be Haikure's Italian denim collection.
Not only do we fall for their amazing cuts, washings and quality...
We also support their ideology based on the principle that
"Fashion and sustainablility in Denim should be able to coexist."
Haikure comes from the combination of the word 'haiku', of the Japanese minimalist poem inspired by Nature, and the endings of 'nature','pure'
and 'future': words that emphasize their philosophy.
From using organic cotton to reducing their water usage, to producing in Italy. The environment is core to the choices Haikure, as a company, makes.
Also, Haikure has a membership for the BCI or 'the Better Cotton Initiative' which is a non-profit organisation for the promotion of more sustainable cotton production. And they often use Lyocell as a sustainable alternative
to cotton for their fabrics too.
Since denim is still considered as one of the least eco-friendly industries -although we must admit too that, sturdy as this fabric is, you can live in
yours for ages- every step in the right direction is one to be praised!
